Google Used My Photos!

I have to admit, I felt pretty darn good when I searched for a picture using Google and – BAM! – there was one of my photos!  It made me think, what other photos of mine did they index?  So I typed in another search and – BAM! – there were two more!  I’ve made it big time now, or not, but I thought it was cool.

I suppose this explains why my Salton Sea and Kenya Tree coral posts get so many hits.  I’ve seen those two pages frequently get hits multiple times per day, and I couldn’t understand why the general Googling public would be interested with either of those articles.  Question answered.  The images are turning up in Google searches, which then leads viewers to those pages.

The really bizarro part was when I Googled one of those photo filenames and found somebody on a reef aquarium forum had linked to it - one of MY photos! - to help somebody identify a coral in their tank!

I realize this isn’t that interesting to anybody else, and I probably won’t even mention it to Jennifer because she’ll just say “huh, cool”, which is immediately followed by devastatingly uncontrollable memory loss of the whole conversation.  Happens all the time…
