Some say the Microsoft Machine needs to be stopped
In the IT world there’s a huge push for Linux-based servers. Most people in the industry feel Microsoft software is too buggy or just too insecure. I’ll agree on some fronts, but when you think about just how much an Operating System handles its no wonder there are bad bits of code. I know, it’s not just the OS’s; their applications suffer from the same issues, too. True, but again, their apps do set the bar all others are judged against. Don’t believe me? What happened to Lotus 1-2-3? Remember WordPerfect?
There are plenty of other apps out there which run circles around Microsoft offerings, and I use a lot of them, but I came across a wonderful little application which lets me synchronize all of my computers — automatically! It’s called FolderShare. Let’s be up front about one thing: No, Microsoft did not invent this application. Being true to their habits they acquired FolderShare in November 2005.
I have my home computer, office computer and laptop all setup so I can have my files at my disposal, whenever, wherever. When I save a file to my hard drive, it’s instantly transmitted to my other PC’s securely via the Internet. Pretty amazing considering it’s completely free! That’s my favorite price.
