The self fragging Kenya Tree Coral (Capnella sp.)

At first I thought the crabs and shrimp were causing the branches to break off and fall because those guys get up in the tree when I feed. Now I think it just happens on its own.

Three Capnellas at the base of the trunk The First frag to fall The most recent fallen branch

Three have fallen off landing at the base. Without any intervention these tough little fallen pieces attached and began stretching up toward the light. Two others fell and before they attached I convinced them to take to a few pieces of live rock rubble. And still three others fell and were sucked out of reach behind the rocks where they attached. Those three look like crap because the light is so diffused but still they chug on.
